Any absence marked unexcused must be addressed within 24 hours.  After 24 hours, the unexcused absence stands and you will be removed  from attendance waiver eligibility.  In addition, unexcused absences will be treated on an hour for hour basis.  If you are unexcused for an hour, you will have an hour before or after school, if you miss two, then it will be two, etc.

Below is the information as it specifically relates to the final waiver process.  Please contact Mr. Ivanyo with any questions.

At 10 unexcused absences, extracurricular activities will be taken away.  This includes sports, clubs, dances, etc.  For example, you have a total of 10 days of unexcused absences for 2nd semester, you will not be able to attend prom and lose eligibility for participation in any school activity.

Excused Absences (EXC):

1.     College visitations

2.     Death or funeral

3.     Emergency illness or injury within the family.

4.     Job shadowing.

5.     Family vacations.

6.     Medical or dental appointments (verification must be with a medical office note).

7.     Parent-excused absences (verified by phone call or parent note).

8.     Sent home by the school nurse.

9.     Administrator’s discretion.

Such absences count toward the attendance limit of ten (10) absences per semester. Work assigned during excused absences may, or may not, receive credit.
