Mrs. Kelly Johnson, M.Ed (A-J)

Hello!  I am thrilled to be the school counselor of all students A-J at Boone Grove High School.  I am in my ninth year as a school counselor, graduating from Indiana University South Bend's Masters in Counseling and Human Services program in 2009.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Sociology in 2005 from Bethel College. Before coming to Boone Grove I was an elementary school counselor for five years in North Central Indiana.  I currently hold Bullying Prevention, Legal and Ethical, College Admission Specialist, Data Specialist, and School Counseling Leadership Specialist certifications from the American School Counseling Association.  I was an Indiana High School Counselor of the year nominee in 2015, and award winner in 2016.   I am both a member of the Indiana and American School Counselor Associations.

My number one priority to my students is that they are supported in the Academic, College and Career, and Social/Emotional domains. As school counselors, we will ensure this be providing students with individual student planning, classroom guidance, parent nights, and much more. Please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime to support your student(s)!

Ms. Mallory Horvat, M.Ed (K-Z)

I could not be more excited to be a part of Boone Grove HS! I come from a much larger school corporation, and I love the fact that at BGHS I really get to know all my students and their families. I graduated in 2017 with my MS in Education at Purdue Northwest. My top priority is my students. I will do everything in my power to advocate for them to the best of my ability. Even though these are simple words, I just want to thank my students for being who they are and influencing my life on a daily basis.
I hope you all know this...

"I am your school counselor.
I don't have a magic wand, a crystal ball, or all the answers.
But I do have ears to listen, a heart to care, and time to give. I have ideas and an open mind.
I am your school counselor, and I am here for you."
